Ask what the number covers
Request an itemized explanation of the rental window, tables and chairs, linens, staffing, security, cleanup, taxes, service charges, and required add-ons. Keep every quote at the same guest count and date so the comparison stays useful.

Walk the event in order
Tour the venue in the sequence a guest will experience it: arrival, parking, entrance, ceremony, cocktail time, dinner, dancing, restrooms, and departure. This makes bottlenecks easier to spot than a room-by-room tour.

Confirm the operating rules
Ask about catering, alcohol, music, decorations, candles, insurance, accessibility, vendor load-in, and the final exit time. Save the answers with the venue so your shortlist reflects more than the photos.
